Changing the theme would just get confusing. I think Gmail has a very nice color scheme, so you know what you’re doing just by the background color.

At work we all use Gmail on this one shared computer, but not all of us always remember to log out. If users could choose from just a few different color scheme options it would be easy to tell who is currently logged-in to Gmail.
