Gmail should allow labels to be organized in meaningful ways

    There is a Greasemonkey script that simulates a folder-like hierarchy of labels: Folders4Gmail.

    Of course you need to have Greasemonkey and this script installed in order for it to work its magic, but the label-naming convention it requires will make sense when using Gmail on other computers.

    It would be nice to be able to do things such as grouping related labels together, arranging certain labels higher than others, etc.

    This can be done today by inserting arbitrary punctuation at the start of label names, but there ought to be a better way.
